Generally before being evaluated for a medical device, we will need a Prescription from a physician referencing your diagnosis and orthopedic goals. We will use this information to conduct a formal examination, where we can assess your strength and flexibility to help determine what brand or design of orthosis you need based on prescription specifications. If necessary we will take an impression of your limb for a custom orthosis. Fit must be optimal for a definitive orthosis. The brace must not hinder skin integrity. If redness persists on the skin where the orthosis is placed for longer than 20 minutes once removed, a follow up appointment must be scheduled so adjustments can be made.
